The Magic Number is 21

I was recently at a seminar/class about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and it's application in regards to stress management.  It was a very interesting seminar, but one thing that the speaker said really stood out.  She made a comment that they often tell a person to choose a behavior that they would like to change and focus on making steps to change it in 21 days.

If you type  the phrase "21 days" into your search engine it will yield pages of links regarding behavioral changes that can be accomplished in this magical number of days. One particularly interesting result is for a Blog from a woman who wanted to make a healthy change in her life by becoming a jogger.

According to Jess she started her blog "21 days" to "form a habit out of running"  and as often happens 21 days led to a change stuck and she is now "addicted" to running.

Here is link to her blog:

The back cover of the book asks many questions. I can relate, my life is filled with many questions so let's hope this book has many answers. Some of these questions are as follows:
  • Whose blueprint are you living?
  • Do you love what you're doing?
  • Do you have passion for what you do?
  • Are you one of those people who believe that good fortune, success, blooming health and all the perks of a wealthy lifestyle comes to a select few, who somehow have managed to win life's lottery?
  • Are you one of life's ordinary people- humdrum job, humdrum life?
  • Do you believe the gap between where you are and where you want to be is just too big and can never be reached?
If you Answered "yes" to any of the above you need to read this book.

So, I will read it and let you all know what I discover.  Of course I will only provide the basics and if it's any good I suggest you pick up a copy for yourself at Amazon.com.
